About me
Nigel Carrick
PersonalI am a retired architect who grew up in Yorkshire; the countryside of which is the source of much of my inspiration. Travel around the world and two spells of living in Africa together with a love of hill walking also provide me with endless images on which to work.
Work
My pieces are produced mainly in porcelain with heavily oxided slips which expand and become volcanic on firing. This technique organically twists and cracks the tiles and dishes. Tiles are sliced and reformed into a range of pieces including abstract wall hangings.
